This term, we went on a day trip to Rapaki Marae. When we arrived, we were welcomed onto the marae with a traditional pōwhiri. We sang E te Tau to the mana whenua of the marae.
During the trip, I learnt that sea glass doesn’t belong at the beach. My favourite part about the marae visit was the beach because we got to go in the caves. The most challenging part of the day was the Maori because it was a different language and I’m still learning. Overall, my experience was exciting, I enjoyed the day.
Resilience: I showed resilience when doing my mihi because I found it hard.
Success: I felt successful when doing my Mihi.
